Main Street First
Welcome to Main Street First! We are a grassroots, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization composed of active and engaged community members in Little Falls, New York who work together to organize, create, implement, and support sustainable initiatives to revitalize our city.
We are completely volunteer based and membership driven, so our biweekly meetings are open and active discussions of current projects, grant opportunities, and proposed initiatives. We have a variety of standing committees and temporary working groups made up of members who want to be actively involved in moving an idea forward. We actively seek out collaborations with local, regional, and national organizations whose missions dovetail with ours, and we regularly invite guest speakers to our meetings and offer educational sessions to the wider public on topics of interest.
Main Street First usually meets every other week on a Monday night at 6:30pm at 690 East Main Street in Little Falls (the Commercial Building on the corner of E. Main Street and Salisbury Street). Meetings usually run until around 8 pm, depending on how much there is on the agenda. We’re an active crew, so this is a great place to find out what’s going on around Little Falls and get excited about all the great things that are happening here! Check out our community calendar for the next meeting and other upcoming events.
Members and non-members are welcome in any of our meetings and projects, although only members may vote on decisions and initiatives. Come join us! Together we thrive!
P.S. There are lots of ways to support Main Street First – find out more!

As a grassroots, volunteer-based, not-for-profit citizens’ organization, we wouldn’t exist – much less get anything done! – without our members! We are made up of community members at all stages of life – from young adulthood to active parenthood to retirement – involved in a wide variety of ways. We encourage people to do what they can in the time that they have available. Whatever fits into your life is a help to all of us.
Just to give you an idea of the variety within Main Street First: Some volunteers come to meetings; some don’t. Others are able to hand out flyers and publications and put up posters to advertise events. Some are great at fundraising. Some work behind the scenes to write about what’s going on around town. Some just lend a hand on clean-up events or take part in committee discussions via email. Others show up to support Third Thursdays and our local merchants. Whatever part you want to play is valued and welcome! Because we’re all neighbors working together to make our community a great place to live, we all support one another’s life priorities and the realities of having an active and demanding life, so we always want your membership to work for you, wherever you’re at in life at the moment.
